It finished construction in 1976, and once finished, Shinra relocated their headquarters to the building. The Shinra Building presumably began construction around 1976, when work began on a plate above Midgar. ![]() The Shinra Building under construction in Crisis Core opening. ![]() History Before Final Fantasy VII Early history The location is visited a few times between Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII- and Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII. In Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-, the building is a recurring location for Zack Fair between his missions. In Final Fantasy VII Remake, it serves a similar role but is the final dungeon of the game and includes the Shinra Combat Simulator. It is visited by a party of Cloud Strife, Barret Wallace, and Tifa Lockhart, who infiltrate the building to reach Hojo's laboratories and rescue Aerith Gainsborough, meeting Red XIII on the way. The Shinra Building is a major dungeon in both Final Fantasy VII. At the very top of the building is the Executive Office of President Shinra, who oversees the city from its highest point. The building houses the head administrative offices of the business divisions, acts as the army headquarters for the Shinra Public Security Forces, contains highly classified laboratories used for nearly all of the Research and Development Division's projects under Professor Hojo, and is also the location of Midgar's governmental office for Mayor Domino. It is the head office of the Shinra Electric Power Company, a colossal skyscraper at Sector 0, the heart of Midgar, and the most dominating building in its skyline. The Shinra Building is a location in the Final Fantasy VII series. ![]()
